Doug Martin spent seven seasons in the league, all but one with the Bucks.

Former Buccaneers and Boise State RB Doug Martin died at 36 while in police custody.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin died after an incident with police officers who were about to arrest him Saturday morning in Oakland, officials confirmed Monday.

Police said Martin was involved in a break-in early Saturday morning and a "brief struggle" ensued when police tried to arrest him. They then said he became unresponsive shortly after being arrested and was transported to a local hospital. He later died at the age of 36.

Martin's agent, Brian Murphy, released a statement on Monday night, confirming that Martin had mental health issues and his family was seeking help for him when the incident happened on Saturday.

"Personally, Doug has struggled with mental health challenges that have greatly impacted his personal and professional life," said Murphy."Ultimately, mental illness proved to be one opponent Doug could not fight.

"Moving the new emails of Dougal e-mail of Doug, the prospective, a lot of cure is interested in the demand of maintenance.

The Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders and Boise State released statements remembering Martin later Sunday afternoon.

"We are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden and unexpected passing of Droug Martin," said the petitioner."From his record-breaking hit in 2012 to multiple pro Bolls in six seasons as his best achievement, he has been impressive and has been named one of our many wings.

"We have grown our lovely heart, friends and boyfriends and everything that torments her life.

Martin played seven seasons in the NFL, all but one with the Buccaneers after taking him with the No.31 overall from Boise State in 2012. He dominated with the Broncos and played a major part on their 2009 team that went undefeated and won the Fiesta Bowl.Martin recorded back-to-back 1,200 yard times to close out his college career.

The "Muscle Hamster" totaled 17 100-yard games during his college career and finished with 3,431 yards, still ranked in the top 10 in Boise State history. The Broncos were consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally, going 50-3 in four seasons under head coach Chris Petersen.

After entering the league, Martin had his best season.He had 1,454 yards and 12 touchdowns as a rookie, both as a boy.Martin's career was limited by hamstring injuries, but he had a breakout campaign in 2015.

He eventually signed with the Oakland Rainers for one final season in 2018 and remained with Lynch until his retirement.He totaled 5,356 yards and 32 receptions in 84 games.
