Since it opened on January 2, more than 190 FBS quarterbacks scholarships have put their names on the transfer portal.
With just days to go before the transfer portal closes, the quarterback musical chairs are filling up quickly.
Since the portal opened on Jan. 2, more than 300 Division I quarterbacks have entered the portal.More than 190 were from FBS and more than 100 were FCS players.
Quarterbacks are the most desired players on the site because of how quickly they can change the team's fortunes.In modern college football, a team's starting quarterback is as likely to come from the portal as a traditional high school recruit.
Which quarterbacks are the most likely to change in 2026, and where are they headed?The Athletic has been tracking the top QBs in the portal window.

Combining Leavitt's skillset with Kiffin's offensive prowess seems like a winning combination.
Leavitt's path to the portal is complete, as he heads to LSU to join new Tigers coach Lane Kiffin.Leavitt drew a lot of attention, visiting Kentucky, LSU, Tennessee and Miami before settling in Baton Rouge.
He is a great talent.Outside the pocket, Leavitt has the ability to make electric, off-the-cuff plays.He works quickly and has a lively hand.And he instills the confidence of coaches in his defender.
He is best remembered for leading Arizona State to the Big 12 Championship in 2024 and Texas to the brink of defeat in the 2024 Peach Bowl, but was unable to enjoy all the results in an injury-riddled 2025.
The combination of Leavitt's skills with Kiffin's offensive prowess looks like a winning combination.

"He's the picture next to 'arm talent' in the dictionary," said a former Power 4 scouting director. Longstreet is also a dynamic disruptor who's good at extending plays and can punish teams as much as a jump runner.

We've seen very little of Knight in a college uniform thus far — just 62 snaps in two games and one start — but what he's shown has been puzzling.With his only start coming against Mercer, an FCS team, he has enough to excite scouts and show him why he's a five-star recruit in the first place.
