The Chinese-American Olympian criticizes the reporter's "ridiculous" medal question: "I am the most decorated female free skater in history!"

Chinese-American skier Eileen Gu called a reporter's question "ridiculous", in response to the suggestion that winning the silver medal was a disappointing result.

Gu, a freestyle skier competing for Team China, won two silver medals at the Winter Olympics in Milan at the time of writing. The medals brought her career total to five, making her the most decorated women's freestyle skier in Olympic history.Gu competed in the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, where she won two golds and a silver.

At a recent press conference, a reporter asked whether Gu believed he had won two silver medals or "lost" two gold medals. The 22-year-old immediately laughed off the question, before expressing his gratitude for even a medal at the Olympics.

I am the most decorated free skier in history!I think that is an answer in itself. How do I say this?Winning a medal at the Olympics is a life-changing experience for any athlete.Doing it five times is exponentially harder because every medal is equally difficult for me, but everyone else's expectations are rising, right?take it.I show my best skiing.I'm doing things that have literally never been done before and so I think that's more than good enough. But thanks.

Eileen Gu was praised for answering the reporter brilliantly with great confidence.

Without hesitation or fear, she looked into his eyes with a "ridiculous sight."

Gu, who was born and raised in San Francisco, recently became the target of some anger over his decision to represent China in international competition. She made the decision for the first time in 2019, explaining that she wanted to help develop sports in the county where her mother is from.

The decision seems to have paid off so far, as her growth in the Chinese market has made her one of the highest paid female players in the world.According to a recent report by The Athletic, Gu earns more than $23 million a year.

Vice President J.D. Vance was recently asked if Gu's legal status in the United States would change as a result of his decision, but he declined to entertain the idea.
