Lakers guard Austin Reaves has a mild left calf strain and will be re-evaluated in about a week, the team announced Friday.
LOS ANGELES – Lakers guard Austin Reeves has an injury in his left calf and will be re-evaluated in about a week, the team announced on Friday.
While the usual calf strain calls for NBA players to be kept out of action for at least two to four weeks, the Lakers' calf strain describes Reaves as "normal."
The 27-year-old Reaves has had a successful season thus far, posting career averages in points (27.8), assists (6.7) and rebounds (5.6) while flirting with the 50/40/90 club (50.3% from the field, 36.9% from three and 87.5% from free throws).
However, he has experienced a dip in production over the Lakers' last two games, averaging 13.0 points on 28.1% shooting.
Before Los Angeles' 132-119 Stone SW antonio spentsy on the toilet Dragon Stomach who typed that schedule.
"Our performance team said the two games back to back [in Toronto and Boston] and then in Philly, those were three very demanding games in terms of intensity and workload," Reddick said of Reaves.
The Lakers play three games next week, all on the road: Sunday at Phoenix, Thursday at Utah and next Saturday against the Clippers at the Intuit Dome.
Regardless of whether or not Reaves is in the lineup, the Lakers have some needs — especially on defense — after losing three of their last five games.
Redick said the team held a film session Friday to address the defensive issues that hurt Los Angeles against San Antonio, when the Lakers allowed the Spurs 35 points in transition, the most they've allowed any team all season.
"I don't think there's anyone in that meeting room," Redick said, "But I also don't think there's anyone in that meeting room."
