Geno Smith is dealing with shoulder and shoulder pain.
Kenny Pickett is expected to start for the Raiders against his former team the Eagles
Kenny Pickett is expected to start the first season of the 2025 season on Sunday when the Raiders face off against his former team, the Eagles.
Geno Smith missed his second straight practice on Thursday, making it unlikely he'll start Sunday in Las Vegas. Smith is dealing with shoulder and back injuries. He left last Sunday's game against the Broncos, then Pickett came in and caught 8 of 11 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Pickett played in Philadelphia through the 2024 season, sitting behind Jalen Hurts as the backup quarterback.Pickett won a Super Bowl ring with the Eagles last year.
However, the Eagles traded Pickett to the Browns before this season to become Cleveland's starting quarterback. But that all changed after the Browns acquired Joe Flacco and then drafted Dillon Gabriel and Cheddar Sanders. After a long competition between linebackers during training camp, Flacco was eventually named QB1 and the Browns traded Pickett to the Raiders in August.
Pickett, who was seen last Sunday, made three starts in three games this season. He started just one game with the Eagles last season while taking over from Pickett.
At 2-11, the pirates have already been removed from the slaoffs. The game of Saturday will be very important to be organized and maybe the picket will get "revenge" of his old team.
