The Bears are looking to sideline Rome Odunze for an extended period of time as the WR recovers from an ankle injury.

CHICAGO — The Bears are considering keeping Rome Odunze long-term as the wide receiver recovers from an injury that forced him to miss Chicago's last two games.

Odunize is a pair of football pain from the end of October and she was discharged for the Sunday of the Sunday.

Bears coach Ben Johnson said the team will explore multiple options with the star receiver.

"All options are on the table," Johnson said."We will do our best for Rome first. I know he wants to be there and help. It's hard to say no to him, sometimes he just wants to get off the pitch and contribute and help our team win. Maybe there are cases where we have to protect him a little bit and make sure we can fix him and he can help us."

Odunze first appeared on Chicago's injury report in October with what was classified as a heel injury. The wide receiver said the injury is "not an easy fix" but he will monitor it with the Bears' athletic training staff.

He leads the Bears with 44 catches for 661 yards and six touchdowns.

Odunje may not be the only one willing to risk missing Chicago's rematch with Green Bay on Dec. 20. Rookie Luther Burden III, who finished with a team-high 64 catches for 84 yards, left the Browns game in the third quarter with an ankle injury.

"His ankle is something we've been working on and talking about," Johnson said.

With Odenz out and Bearden leaving early, DJ Moore emerges as Caleb Williams' primary threat.Moore scored four times for 69 yards and two touchdowns in Chicago's 31-3 win over Cleveland.
