The NHL will continue its streak in 2027 with the Dallas Stars hosting the Vegas Golden Knights at AT&T Stadium.

The NHL Stadium Series opens the 2013–14 season with the Los Angeles Kings hosting the Anaheim Ducks at Dodger Stadium.The next game is Sunday at Raymond James Stadium, when the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Boston Bruins. Although the 2026 game has yet to be played, the NHL is planning for 2027 as the Dallas Stars learn their opponent for the game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Vegas Golden Knights will visit the Stars at the home of the Dallas Cowboys on February 20, 2027, according to the NHL's announcement.

AT&T Stadium hosts a hockey tournament for the first time.Since its opening in 2009, the stadium has hosted many major events. These include Super Bowl XLV, the 2014 NCAA Basketball Final Four, the 2016 CFP National Championship, Wrestlemania 2016, both in 2022, and the 2018 NFL Draft. In addition, the stadium regularly hosts the Cotton Bowl Classic and the Big 12 Conference Championship.The stadium will also host nine World Cup matches in 2026.

This is not the first time Texas has hosted an outdoor contest. The Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas hosted the 2020 Winter Classic when the Stars defeated the Nashville Predators. This was the only time the Stars played an outdoor game.

This will also be the third time the Golden Knights have played away.They entered the NHL Outdoor in Lake Tahoe in 2021, lost to the Colorado Avalanche and also lost in the 2024 Summer Classic to the Seattle Kraken.

The 2027 Stadium Series at AT&T Stadium will be the 47th outdoor game in NHL history.So far, there have been 44 matches played, the 45th being on Sunday.Meanwhile, the 46th outdoor game will be the 2027 Winter Classic, hosted by the Utah Mammoths at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Utah.
