NASCAR won't cancel Bowman Gray due to winter storm, Kenny Wallace insists

The NASCAR Cup Series begins the 2026 season this weekend with a visit to Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem.After an offseason full of changes, the roar of the engine is destined to rekindle the adrenaline. However, the opening ceremony of the day may be ruined.

Ahead of the 48th Clash, heavy snowfall expected to hit the area casts doubt on the Clash.

TV photographer Chris Weaver shared images of the cable covered in snow Monday, writing that crews were working to remove it.Fox broadcaster Mike Joy also expressed concern that the weather could affect the race. But Kenny Wallace remained undeterred.

The former driver strongly believes reports of the storm are exaggerated and the race will go ahead as planned. His confidence comes from close sources.

"I talked to my brother Mike [Wallace] and my mom last night. They live in Concord, North Carolina. They said it wasn't a big deal. It was too much of a storm. It went north. They got a little something. But Mike said it was 31 degrees last night at ten. Nothing happened," Wallace said.

Schools and organizations were closed just because of the drama, Wallace believed. He believed that the situation did not in the least justify such actions.

"Will NASCAR Abolish the Cook Out Collision?"Wallace asked, before answering himself."I don't think they can. I'll take it from Ken Schrader's page. Hell, it was thirty degrees last year!"

NASCAR will do many things to ensure that the race is hot and that the race can continue without problems or interruptions. But as for delay, Wallace doesn't think it's possible.

According to AccuWeather, there is a 30% chance of snow showers on both Saturday and Sunday. But the good news is that the forecast for Monday is much more promising. If the race goes ahead, it is almost certain that Monday will go ahead without a hitch. And the fans can't wait for the engines to start roaring.
