4. Bill Buffalo (5-2)

Week 8 results: Panthers beat 40-9

Week 8 Goal: 6th

Best Edition: DT Deone Walker

The fourth-round pick has become a valuable player for the Bills, especially considering the injuries that have affected their defensive position. The playing time for Walker and other rookies on defense isn't a surprise, but he started six games and played 51.7 percent of the snaps on defense. He is tied with Ed Oliver in tackles for a loss (seven) and ranks third in the league in stops (8.2%).With Oliver out indefinitely with a torn left bicep, the Bills will need Walker to continue their momentum.-Alaina Getzenberg

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2)

Resultat Week 8 - Saints 23-3

Rating for week 8: 4

Best addition: Word Emeka Egbuka

The No. 19 pick was slowed by a hamstring injury while the team played without its other top three receivers (Mike Evans, Chris Godwin Jr., Jalen McMillan). But Egbuka's 562 receiving yards ranked seventh in the league, and all five of his touchdown catches (tied for eighth) came in the first five games against the Seahawks. The rookie had his best performance in Week 5, catching all seven targets for 163 yards and a touchdown.-- Jenna Line

6. Kansas City Chiefs (5-3)

Week 8 Score: beat the hosts 28-7

Ranking Week 8: 7

Although Simmons has been sidelined since Oct. 12 due to a family situation, the first-round pick showed he could be the Chiefs' left tackle for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.Through five games, Simmons has excelled in pass protection, allowing the Chiefs' offense to execute. When he comes back, he could be a Pro Bowler.Taylor

7. Green Bay Packing House (5-1-1)

Week 8 results: Beat the Cavaliers 35-25

Saturday 8 A: 8

Outstanding offseason addition: DE Micah Parsons

Parsons was everything the Packers hoped for — and maybe more — when they traded two first-team picks plus Kenny Clark before giving him a $188 million contract. Not only does he lead the NFL in tackles, Green Bay ranks sixth in the NFL in yards allowed per game (289.4).--- Rob Devysky

Alex Smith, Adam Schefter and Rex Ryan discuss the Packers' young roster and their chances to reach the Super Bowl.

Week 8 career: 5th

Best offseason addition: WR Davante Adams

The Rams rebuilt their receiver room this offseason, adding the veteran to a two-year, $46 million deal to pair with Puka Naqua. While Adams and quarterback Matthew Stafford say it takes time to build chemistry with a new teammate, the growth showed in the Rams' final game before their bye.In Week 7 against the Jaguars, Adams had his most productive performance of the season with three touchdowns in London.-- Sarah Barshop

Best Addition of the Offseason: QB Sam Darnold

You could come up with a long list of home run additions made by general manager John Schneider and coach Mike MacDonald last offseason, including offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and rookie left guard Gray Zabel. But when a team trades quarterbacks and gets the kind of play Darnold has in Seattle, he's the easy pick.Signed to a three-year, $100.5 million contract after the Seahawks traded Geno Smith to the Raiders, Darnold is sixth in total QBR and is showing that his brilliant season with the Vikings is no one-year wonder.- Brady Henderson

12. San Francisco 49ers (53)

Week 8 result: Texans lost 26-15

Saturday 8 A: 10

Best offseason addition: DC Robert Saleh

Take it from San Francisco tight end George Kitt, who said all year that Saleh was the Niners' biggest addition.Through eight games, with the loss of star linebacker Fred Warner (ankle) and quarterback Nick Bosa (ACL) to season-ending injuries, Saleh had to earn every penny on defense.Lacking a pass rush and an interception, it's not perfect, but it's allowed in points.(20.5) Saleh's defense is the eighth best.Wouldn't be surprised if Saleh is a strong candidate in the next coaching session.--Nick Wagner

13. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3)

Week 8 result: Loser of Match 35-25

Week 8 Rating: 13

Best bargain addition: QB Aaron Rodgers

Of all the offseason acquisitions, Rodgers, perhaps the most controversial addition, has been the most reliable for the Steelers. At 41 and two years removed from an Achilles tear, it's unclear what he has left in the tank. But Rodgers has been a steady offensive leader and has shown flashes of historic moves by extending plays, breaking the pocket and hitting deep balls downfield. But it is not a panacea for attack. The Steelers, who converted 10 third downs against the Packers.-- Brooke Pryor

Rex Ryan, Alex Smith and Adam Schefter discuss the Steeler defense and how it could devastate their season.

Marks leads Texans in scrimmage with 379. -- DJ Bien-Aime

18. Dallas Cowboys (3-4-1)

Week 8 result: lost to the broncos 44-24

Week 8 standings: 16

Best outfielder: rb javonte Williams

No one could have predicted that Williams would end up in the hands of 1345 yards, time 17 when the cows, 17 when the cows, when the cows would separate from one man.And yet, here it is.Williams has shown his ability to break down other routes and pick dirty yards.YOU HAVE TO DO IT EVENTUALLY.But if teams want to play too deep to protect receivers like Lamb Ceedy and George Pickens, then the Cowboys will continue to feed Williams.- Todd Atocher

Stephen A. Smith inspired Joney Jones to reinforce the colloquialism of Conkys to go with his powers.

He was credited with allowing Tunsil three sacks, though one of those came on a game that lasted 3.7 seconds.Regardless, he came at a premium cost and is worth an extension with one year remaining on his deal, even at 31 years old. “I would definitely like to have Laremy as my bodyguard,” Washington coach Dan Quinn said after Week 1.That remains true two months later, although the hamstring injury he suffered on Monday must be monitored.-- John Kim
