Harry Kane is back to full fitness and fully available for the second leg against Italian side Atalanta in the Champions League last 16 on Wednesday night. The result was a surprise victory for the Bavarian giants – and one of the best performances of the night, as befits the Ballon d'Or candidate.

Harry Kane is happy with the winning win over Atalanta in the Champions League

The FC Bayern striker was confident but diligent in both games.

After coming off the bench against Atalanta last week, some fans were concerned about his inability to break down the Italian side and their lack of confidence in Nicolas Jackson. The African striker's performance was mixed, but a performance the team was proud of.

Knowing the large overall advantage heading into the second round, Kane was not eager to go easy on Atlanta.

"With such a lead from the first stage, it's easy to get complacent. But we said we wanted to win with the same style as the first stage. Credit to the boys, we were there from the first to the last minute. Some youngsters made their debut. Overall we can be happy", like @iMiaSanMia.

Bayern were not complacent in the second leg.Despite holding a huge lead and simply requiring a minimal performance to advance to the next round, Bayern continued their strong performance and defeated the visitors to complete the score 10-2 on aggregate.

Kane and the rest of the team were as enthusiastic as ever, but despite the obvious advantage, they did more than enough to reach the quarter-finals, although they needed to rotate players and manage the timing of the game.Bayern Munich will now face Real Madrid in the quarterfinals. There is considerable history between the two clubs in European competition, and while history has been on Spain's side, Bayern Munich will be keen to make another deep run in the competition this year.
