MiLaysia Fulwiley hopes to help LSU beat her first team, South Carolina, in the SEC Tournament.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A year ago, Milesia Fulvili helped South Carolina win its third straight women's Southeast Regional championship.

On Saturday, the quick and explosive point guard will try to do everything he can to stop the Gamecocks from making it four in a row.

Fulwiley transferred to rival LSU last year after South Carolina's season ended with a loss to UConn in the national championship game.It was a rare example of coach Dawn Staley losing one of her best players in the age of transfer gates.

Filvilly has come off the bench like he did at South Carolina, but has been a big contributor for sixth-ranked LSU.

She scored a team-high 22 points and dished out eight assists Friday as the sixth-seeded Tigers knocked off No. 7 Oklahoma 112-78 in the SEC quarterfinals. This Saturday's semifinal is against No. 3 South Carolina and its longtime coach and teammates.

"I'm excited to see them," Fulwiley said."I like them. But now I'm really going to focus on going out there and playing better than the last time I played against them."

Fullley was 6 of 6 in LSU's 79-72 regular season loss to South Carolina on Feb. 14 with eight points, four steals and four rebounds.

She is averaging 14.1 points per game for the Tigers.

When asked if he needed to calm his nerves before the game, Fulvili joked, "I'm not going to start, so it gives me time to calm my nerves. I have to remind myself to go out there and help my team."

Fulvili said he believes the experience he gained from winning the SEC tournament can help his new teammates.

She knows what to expect.

"Obviously, because I'm very familiar with all of this, and this gym," Fulwiley said."I played here in high school. I played here the last two years. So I'm going to remind my classmates that it's not that bad - it's literally not that good. I have to remind them who we are and focus on ourselves and not focus on somebody else.

LSU coach Kim Mulkey said he didn't want to talk to Fullilly before the game to make sure his emotions were under control.

"You don't have to talk to Lay," Mulkey said."Lay will make an amazing play and then he can tear your hair out the next minute. But you let him play. But no, it's not one of those places where you think you have to calm him down.
